Transform Housing
Brand identity, website design

The Brief
Transform Housing and Support are a Surrey-based local charity, offering high-quality housing and support to enhance the lives of homeless and vulnerable people. They have more than 50 years’ experience of supporting people to transform their lives.
They asked us to design and build them a new website, incorporating an evolved brand identity and colour palette. The website needed to contain lots of different information for various overlapping audiences, so user experience and clarity of navigation were key.
Alongside the main website, the same content management system needed to drive their Client hub website which sits on a separate domain.

What was the process?
Since their existing website was built using Drupal, we proposed upgrading it to the latest version (from 7 to 10) and integrating a user friendly drag-and-drop content editor. We would create a website that:
- Utilised an expanded, bold colour palette
- Made it easy for clients and partner agencies to find relevant content
- Provided transparent searchable information and resources
- Encouraged users to apply for careers with Transform
- Empowered clients through participation in website content and structure decisions

Our Approach
We worked with Transform to create a new visual identity for the website, drawing on existing branding to create a distinct look and feel, crafting template designs and a style guide for the new user interface.
The CMS drives both the main site and their Client microsite, using strong brand identity to distinguish between the two whilst also using it to maintain an obvious connection.
The website was designed to pass WCAG accessibility guidelines at AA levels.

Outcome and conclusion of the project
In designing and building the website for Transform, we created a clear, user-friendly and simple website that allows the content to be the user’s focus, and is easy for staff to maintain. Clients are involved in iterative improvements to areas of the website that impact them, and partner agencies and other user audiences can find what they are looking for with ease.
